So EVE launched their new alpha clones today, so I logged onto an old account to check them out a short time ago. These new alpha clones are a very limited skill tree way to play and have access to faction specific frigates and navy frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and navy cruisers in the combat line, also available are your factions basic cargo haulers and the mining frigate (in total around 21 ships are available per character.) Your other skills for weapons and armor or shields and such will also be dependent on your factions main skill types you will be able to get most of these skills to lvl 2-3 and a few will make it to 4 in this play mode. Yes this is very limiting, however if you are a first time player or have limited time to play this can be a nice option to get you started in EVE. The skill training is about 1/2 the speed of a paid subscriber and limited to 24 hour slotting which is not much of an issue if you can only play a couple days a week. If you would like to try out EVE now is a great time to hop into your cockpit and chase down some pirates. Ready your blasters, railguns, cannons, or missile launchers and get out there and scratch some paint!
*please note that yes you can buy a plex for a month of subscriptions however this is not a quick process as a plex is around 1.3billion isk and with the alpha clone limits getting cash is pretty slow ( you would basically have to mine 24/7 for around 38days [high sec for scorodite and veldspar anyway] to be able to afford a plex if you are playing solo.)
